Does God Speak Through Fortune Cookies?

I enjoyed Mark Batterson's book In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day, so last Friday I picked up his newest, Wild Goose Chase. I took it to church with me Sunday, figuring I would start reading after service, since my wife, being the bookkeeper at the Spanish church, usually has to hang around for a while to deal with office stuff. After I got Briana and Abby in the van, I grabbed the book and started reading.

Chapter 1 starts with a quote from Helen Keller: Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.
For lunch, we went to a new Chinese buffet with some friends to celebrate their daughter's 9th birthday. At the end of the meal, I got my fortune cookie and craked it open. Want to guess what was on the little slip of paper? Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

Now, I realize that most sayings in fortune cookies are nice platitudes that can apply to almost anyone. I can't think of a single cookie slip I've read that I couldn't apply to myself in some aspect. But out of the hundreds of quotes they put in those cokies, and out of the 30 or so that were in the bowl I grabbed it from, for that to be the one I opened -- to read the same message twice in under 3 hours. You may call it coincidence. But it's been my experience that God is very skilled at setting up "coincidences" in our lives.
